Got a bit of a head start on the Year of the Snake goals because I arranged to have an art mentor for the month of January. I’m hoping to have a month of mentoring every quarter since I can’t afford to do it every month. The mentor I have chosen works in the film and game industry, as well as teaching. Looking forward to seeing how far I can progress during the Year of the Snake.

Seems the first step may be to reacquaint myself with my tools, both digital and traditional. Digital in particular because I forget how to use most of the software that I have and it’s also changed because of updates since I last used them. Yesterday my display tablet didn’t even want to drag and drop.

A new tool that I’ve begun learning, because of this mentorship, that’s helpful, is PureRef which makes it so much easier to collect, view, and take notes on/about reference images. Wish I’d known about this a long time ago.

This is definitely going to be a year of learning!

Work, Rest, Repeat

Not a good week energy wise. After the back to back classes (attempting to help with Level 1 class, then attending my own class) last week I have been extremely exhausted ever since. Ended up working

Tired and Spaces

Last week I said I wanted to pay more attention to what’s preventing me from training, and where the spaces are, in my life, for training. While I still didn’t get much training done (I really do feel
