Still running behind on my IHC requirements, and everything else I need to do.
A topic amongst some of us IHC members lately has been on organization, prioritization, and staying on track. I love the sharing of ideas for improvement (thank you everyone!). This led me back to the collecting of information that I do to help students learn more efficiently (and me too). One of the things I've been doing is finding YouTube videos on the subject that I feel are useful for this and making a playlist that I can send students to. Hopefully this curated list helps them get the information they need faster than searching for it themselves.
Today there was a YouTube video recommended to me that fit with this topic beautifully that I decided to watch it even though I hadn't originally planned to watch anything (I guess I still need to work on my focus :-D), from the channel Better Than Yesterday. I love that name! It was called "Why You Can't Focus - and How to Fix That"
Anyway, today's blog is in the spirit of sharing and reciprocation.
Things and ideas that have been shared with me lately have been:
Don't get down on yourself. May is the worst month of the year for most IHC members. Just figure out a new system/schedule that works for you.
To look up Kate Northrup - she helps busy women figure this stuff out
Trello - an electronic organization system that works on multiple platforms via the internet
Appropriate affirmations
Remember that done is better than perfect
Thank you for the suggestions! I hope that by sharing these ideas in this format (blog) the suggestions given to me can also help others.
And in that spirit of reciprocation, here is where I put the lists of videos that might be helpful to others. Most of the playlists are on physical examinations but there is also "Learning Effectively", "Take Better Notes", and "Working WITH Nature"
I hope you find something there helpful, and if you have suggestions of videos that should be added to the lists I would love to hear about them and why you think they are of value.
Oh, and if you've heard about the 10,000 rule, check out the video "The first 20 hours - how to learn anything"
OK, blog done. Time to focus on something else... after an appropriate break of course.
