The missing Great Coat instructions have been found!
Yet another reason why decluttering is so important to me this year.
Last night’s class was interesting because I had just spent time on the weekend going through the videos of classes that had to do with Da Mu Hsing. For those who don’t know, that is a hand form. My goal for this year is to learn the next part of the form that I don’t currently know, but it turned out that I had somehow forgotten some of the steps of the parts I had already learned (supposedly learned). So, what did we cover in class? Da Mu Hsing and Lao Gar – two hand forms. I really needed that!
The funny thing about the forms is that last year I tried to make sure I practiced each of the school forms, that I have been taught, at least once per week so that they wouldn’t get forgotten, and did pretty well on that with most of them. Several of them were done more frequently than that. Yet it seems it wasn’t enough to stop me from getting very rusty. Imagine how bad it would have been if I hadn’t set that intention and followed through as much as I did.
I’ve started attempting wall pushups again instead of just planks. Still taking it slow. Not 200 per day, that’s for sure! The shoulder isn’t sure about 25 to 50 per day. We’ll see what my body allows. Same goes for sit-ups, though I can usually do more of them my back gets mad at me for it. So, I’m going to have to do some alternatives if I want to stand a chance of getting anywhere near the goal numbers without breaking myself.
The lingering cough from being sick for a couple of weeks is making it very difficult to do anything that gets the breath rate up. Doing forms etcetera are good at getting the breathing rate increased.

For anyone who is wondering about the photograph, it is the rain chain on our house covered in ice. I love how the sunlight sparkles through it.
