Dog Training – Kung Fu is “hard work”
Just like in our Kung Fu training, where we are tested or evaluated on our progress, dog training was tested last night while I was in class. You see, when I started training the new dogs, I heard of someone who was able to leave their dog on their dog-bed while they went for a one-hour run. I thought that this would be impossible for me, but it’s been something I’ve been working on anyway. Last night the training was tested. They both were placed on their beds in the living room before I left for class and they stayed there until I got back. I know they did because there was someone at home to observe them. That’s a one hour class, with a thirty minute travel time each way, for a total of two hours. Not only did we achieve what I thought would be impossible, it was exceeded. I’m so proud of them! Now I just need to get them to be able to do it when there are lots of distractions.
I love it when you can see the results of your hard work.
Kung Fu Training
The class went pretty well. Not back up to the energy I normally have. Had to rest a bit.
Really enjoyed what we learned about the sword form. It’s always easier for me to have “intent” when I know what movements are, or can be used for, in forms. Though I’m still a bit confused about the jump with the two back fists and what that’s all about.
Note:
Had some blogs mostly written but never got them published. This is one of them. Hence, the date in the title. Numbers will be posted with a later blog post as I get the posts caught up.
