There’s nothing like getting sick to make you appreciate being healthy. I’m finding myself enjoying having more energy to do my Kung Fu forms and play/train with my dogs, which takes A LOT OF ENERGY! Still not quite back to my former self, having to rest a lot between short sessions, but steadily getting there.
You’d think after all this time of being on the I Ho Chuan team that I would have the answer to this question, but I don’t. I’ve been wondering how to count my forms. In the past I’ve only counted it for my numbers if I did the whole form (all that I know of it), but there are so many times when we are just concentrating on one part of it, and that should count too. Plus, forms like Da Mu Hsing are quite long and take a lot of time to do compared to others. So, I’m wondering how my teammates deal with this question.
Made a new staff for using in class. I kind of got addicted to having a well balanced, not bowed, staff with the balance point being exactly in the centre of the length, as well as having the silicone grip tape that makes it easier to do some stuff without it slipping out of my hands. There were changes I wanted to make to the pair that I made for double wielding last year but I didn’t want to have to tear them apart to redo them when I could just make one new one and still have the matched pair if I want them. Now, just by touch, I can quickly find the centre of balance as well as the one-thirds position for the hands. You can find that without such things, but this does make it faster, and I can do it with my eyes closed.

Memorize “Mastery”: Continuing to work on this and it is getting easier to remember some parts, but I don’t have it all memorized yet. Still need prompts before the next part can be dug out of the memory banks. Been working on this almost daily for the last few months.
Nurture Relationships: Let’s just say, I am happy with this at the moment.

Declutter: Took several boxes to the thrift store for donation. Felt good to get stuff out of the house.
Great Coat Project: Pulled out the sewing machines to see which ones are working. None of them are. The oldest one looks like the best option though because it’s not fancy (no computers etc.) and looks like it just needs a new electric cord. I guess this is what happens when you abandon them for so long to just sew by hand.
Note: Photograph is of my boy snoozing on his bed.
I’ll Count form reps for things like doing only 1 part of Da Mu Hsing, I’ll also count form reps towards working on a particular section/moves.
