Memorizing "Mastery" by Stuart Emery: Ugh!

There have been a number of setbacks this month beyond my control. Considering all that, I'm pleased to have accomplished as much as I have.

Ignorance has set me back too. I was unaware of what counted as sparring. Thank you everyone that was at Open Practice on Saturday who helped me with that.

Insulin resistance research hasn't really started because I have had so many other work responsibilities that I needed to catch up on. It is getting caught up so the research should begin soon.

As for memorizing "Mastery", ideas on how to do this more effectively are most welcome. I have flashcards for this, and thinking of redesigning them because they aren't helping in their current format. I'm used to learning about things where there's a mechanism of action, where I can understand HOW something works. This is essentially rote learning and that is something I struggle with.

Something that seems to be working well for me (so far) is using the timer on my iWatch. I do 25 pushups and 25 sit-ups, then set the timer for one hour, repeat. Sometimes the timer goes off at a time that I can't do the pushups and sit-ups and other days I can get 300 of each done in a day.

There you have it. Hopefully "slow and steady" really does "win the race".
