Something New

Did something I’ve never done before when it comes to Kung Fu, I came out to help with a Level 1 class last Wednesday. It was fun! Though I’m not sure how much help I actually was. It can be really hard to objectively see how far you have come in learning something, but being there to help with that class allowed me to see how far I have likely come from absolute amateur to where I am now. Still a very long way to go though!

As for my numbers I’m less worried about the number of repetitions than I am about the fact that I haven’t been doing them as consistently as I should or want to. Not trying to do 150 to 200 sit-ups and pushups in a day has definitely meant less pain (shoulder and back pain). Right now, I’m happy if I do 25 to 50 of each in a day. The thing is, I need to be more consistent about doing them every day. When I’m consistent about these numbers I find myself feeling like I can continue to build and get better. Whenever I’ve previously pushed for higher numbers I’ve always felt like I ended up not moving forwards, or even setting myself back, rather than steadily improving my physical abilities. One year I set myself back severely when trying to achieve the higher numbers!

The other numbers I’m not happy with are my weapon form. I really expected to have done more of these by now. There is a lot of catching up to do!
