Year of the Water Tiger Wrap UP
Didn’t achieve most of my goals. However, did exceed my kilometres for the year. Came close to my goal of drawing at least 52 times last year (40). Plus, as mentioned in a previous blog, I feel better about my fitness. Been seeing positive changes in stamina, balance, flexibility, and hopefully skill (that part is up to the instructors). Had trouble remembering to write down my Random Acts of Kindness (RAoK) so my numbers for that weren’t so good this year. Need to pay more attention to recording those again, especially since they are usually easy to achieve.
This is the first year where achieving those 50,000 pushups (seconds of planks in my case) and situps seems like it’s not just a pipe dream but an actual possibility.
Using the Excel Spreadsheet was useful, and I really like how setting up formulas means that the counting and tracking are done automatically… as long as I remember to record the information. Keeping track of what was happening in my life helped me evaluate what was happening with regards to my numbers and obligations. Hopefully that will help for the next year.
Year of the Water Rabbit Start
Made some changes to my organizational habits… AGAIN! We’ll see if it helps. Still using the Excel spreadsheet but added some new things to help me figure stuff out. If nothing else, doing I Ho Chuan (IHC) makes me improve my organizational abilities as well.
In doing my planning it made me realize that I may have made a mistake setting all the goals I did for this year but it’s too late to change it now. Besides, the worst that can happen (I hope) is that I don’t get it all done. The best that can happen is that I accomplish them. So, here goes!
Personal goals this year include:
Sewing a great coat. This is a very new sewing project for me. All natural materials so that when it reaches the end of its life (a long time in the future I hope) it can be composted
Drawing/doodling at least once per week
A list of books to read
Personal research project
Meditation – at least a moment each day
One of the things I’m changing this year is my approach to blogging. We are always told that if we don’t blog then no one can help. I’ve seen, during past IHC years, that this is true. When other team mates blogging stops I wonder what’s happening… and I miss them… and I have no idea of there is anything I might be able to do to help.
Time is also an issue for me and my blogging, especially during the growing season. So, this year, I’m hoping I am successful at maintaining my blogging once a week if I just approach it as “checking in”. If an article that’s interesting to readers emerges, great! If not, and all I can do is “check in”, then at least I’m not disappearing.
With all that said, let’s go Rabbits!
