It was easier!

Two things that happened lately that surprised me.

First

Board breaking. I must be improving because breaking the boards this year was so much easier than in previous years. I even broke some of the harder to break boards. YAY!

Is there still room for improvement? Of course! It comes as no shock that my spinning back kicks still SUCK. There were other things that I need to fix, such as a tendency to lift my heal when doing a board break with my elbow and palm-heal-strike. Those kinds of things.

If experience is an indicator though, I can look forward to it being even easier with each successive year, as long as I keep up with my training.

Second

I did a full pushup! Not a box pushup, not a knee pushup, but a full pushup (only hands and feet on the ground). Not just one, but five of them, and it wasn’t all that hard this time. Now, it still isn’t easy, and I can’t do many. My shoulders complained with just that little bit. So, I’m not going to push it. Maybe now I can sprinkle one or two pushups in with my planks and not get myself incapacitated because of shoulder issues?

Here's hoping.
