Walked the dog… kidding!
However, the dogs are an important part of this blog post. You see, I caught myself doing something unexpectedly Kung Fu –ish when playing tug with my boy. He’s approximately 70 pounds of young strong dog and I have to use both hands to hang on to his tug toy (a ball on a rope) so that he can’t pull it out of my grip. What I caught myself doing, because he’s so strong, was horse stances and high back stances in order to not be pulled over by his strong pull. My thought is that my stances are also benefiting from this because it’s not static but rather dynamic when I play with him. Anyway, I think those two stances are getting easier and lower thanks to playing with a strong dog. Who knew?
Thank you to everyone who helped me start to learn Da Mu Hsing V (DMH-V) which is the part I really wanted to do as my hand form this year.
Pushups: 325 – Not where I wish they were but I have started to get more energy to do more each day, plus I’ve started doing counter/wall pushups instead of just planks. Taking it slow. If I have muscle pain (the normal kind from use) I will push through it, but when I get joint pain I stop.
Sit-ups: 237 – much like the pushups, still building the energy levels back up, plus dealing with low back pain that often accompanies doing them. Started doing things like leg lifts, crunches, that sort of thing instead regular sit-ups.
Weapon Form: 3 – need to refresh my memory of this one and review the videos.

Nurture Relationships: I feel good about this yet also feel that I should be contacting/catching up with certain people that I haven’t seen in a while.

Declutter: Got started decluttering a non-physical thing in my life.
Great Coat project: If the sewing machine gets fixed this week I should be set to start work on the coat this weekend.
Note: Photo is not of one of my dogs but a dog of similar breed.
