Newton's First Law

All through tonight's IHC meeting, as team members were sharing their successes and difficulties, Newton's First Law kept echoing in my mind. The law states, essentially, that
an object in motion tends to stay in motion and an object at rest tends to stay at rest, unless acted upon by an external force
Over and over people said that it was much easier to keep going than it was to get going again on their IHC commitments. I've said as much in my own blogs. So, I guess what's missing is the appropriate external force at the appropriate time. We need to stop allowing the "friction" (external force) of other parts of our lives to be excuses (reasons?) for us to slow down and stop. We also need to apply the right kind of force to get us going again.
To me it sounded like the following were various types of "force" that helped get people going again, and perhaps keeping them in mind will help all of us keep going:
Journaling (and blogging)
Attending the meetings regularly
Attending the classes regularly
Taking part online
Taking advantage of the one-on-ones offered with the various Sifus
Taking part in the unofficial Kwoon get-togethers (i.e. Saturday practice in the parking lot)
making sure to surround yourself with people (like IHC teammates) on a regular basis
That last one is huge for me personally because I find it a lot easier to remain "an object in motion" when I'm surrounded by people who are also "an object in motion".
What "external force" did I miss putting on the list that helps you keep going?
