Numbers got off to a bit of a slow start but they are picking up now. Some subtle changes in what to use for push-up equivalents has helped. Thank you Sifu! Why I didn’t think of them, I don’t know. Slow learner I guess. Still, it’s the start of the year which usually goes pretty well, it’s what happens later in the year that will really tell me how I’m doing.

I’m almost done my month of art mentorship. There’s only one meeting left. So far I’ve been told more than once, “you don’t suck at drawing”. That’s good to hear, because it’s really easy to get down on yourself about such things. Even better when it comes from someone who does art as their profession. At the last meeting I even got an “oh wow” when I uploaded my completed homework. I am in the midst of my first ever proper creature design.

Very glad that I arranged for an art mentor because he’s been pushing me in ways I probably would not have pushed myself, and he does it in such a way that I’m nudged just a little past my comfort zone but not too much.

With the art goal and the continuation of the decluttering goal, among other things, I’m glad I didn’t plan to make up my own forms again this year. That would have been too much at once.

Your art is pretty amazing. There are other artists in the group. You could reach out and contribute to each other progress.
